From Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th March we will be at ProWein, the international wine and spirits fair held every year in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Spagnol Col del Sas will be present with its own space inside the institutional stand of the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG in the center of pavilion 15 (Hall 15 – D 21), together with other fellow producers of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG.

ProWein anniversary

This year’s edition will be a special one because it’s the 30 years anniversary of the German fair. First staged in 1994, with only 321 exhibitors and just over 1,550 visitors, this year ProWein is preparing to host more than 50,000 wine professionals from all over the world, with 5,700 exhibitors from 60 different countries. A remarkable growth from all points of view.

There are many new features, starting from the new “ProSpirits” space, dedicated for the first time to the world of spirits with 300 international producers, to “ProWein Zero” dedicated to the theme of no and low alcohol, up to the trend show “Same but Different” , which will welcome 120 international exhibitors with a selection of artisanal spirits, craft beer and cider.

The numbers of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG in the German market

For our Appellation this is an important and strategic event to consolidate the role of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG in the German market, which represents the second foreign market (after the United Kingdom). In 2022, the value of German imports stood at around 50.7 million euros, with a volume of 8.1 million bottles. An excellent performance compared to 2021, with an increase in import value of 7.2% and volume of 5.8%. In the long term (2003-2022), observing the change in volumes absorbed by Germany, the results obtained show a notable growth of 151%, which confirms the great interest in DOCG sparkling wine on the German market, further strengthening its role as a driver in the development of sparkling wines in Italy.
